Walter Jairam Singh

Walter Jairam Singh, age 69, of College Park, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 14th,

surrounded by his loving sister, Janet Persaud.

Walter was born on July 26, 1956, in Georgetown, Guyana. He spent much of his adult life in the
United States, where he built a life marked by quiet strength, creativity, and deep affection for
those around him. A man of gentle spirit and humble heart, Walter’s life was a reflection of

kindness, grace, and the quiet blessings God places in our path

Walter had a true passion for painting, creating beautiful works of art that reflected his thoughtful
spirit and unique perspective. Through his art, he expressed a sense of peace and wonder that
spoke to the beauty of God’s creation. He also found great joy in the sport of horse racing, a

pastime he followed with enthusiasm and simple delight.

Above all, Walter was a loving and devoted family member. His warmth, compassion, and steady
presence were a source of comfort and strength to those who knew him. He lived his life with a

generous heart, always offering love and kindness without expectation.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Walter now rests in
eternal peace, embraced by God’s infinite love and grace. May his soul find rest in the presence
of the Lord, and may those who loved him find solace in cherished memories and the promise of

reunion in God’s heavenly kingdom.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Janet Persaud; his nieces, Sattie Persaud-Alami and Rhyian
Durance; Geeta Singh and Sita Singh,his nephew-in-law, Iqbal Alami; his grandnephews, Stefon
Persaud and Kevin Persaud; and his grandnieces, Hannah Durance-Lima and Yasmin Alami.
Walter’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a lasting testament to a

life filled with love, faith, and quiet devotion.
