Stephen Basham

February 10, 1970-January 11, 2026

Stephen E. Basham of Amissville, Virginia passed away on January 11, 2026 at the age of 55 due to complications from Liver disease at Georgetown Medstar Health Hospital in Washington D.C. 

Stephen was preceded in death by his wife Sheila Basham and his father Gary Basham Sr.  He is survived by his Mother Jill Cleaves and his brothers Gary Basham Jr. (Judy) and Michael Basham (Amy) as well as many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Bear.  Stephen was a highly skilled Roofer even once working on the White House roof.  A great joy in his life was the music he played with his friends.  He played Bass Guitar in a number of bands throughout his life.

Stephen had many life-long friends and was loved by all who knew him.  Details for a “Celebration of Life” are pending and will be coming soon.  Updated information will be posted on Stephen’s Facebook page.
