Robert Allen Lyskawa, affectionately known as Bobby and Papa Bobo, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 66.
Born on April 6, 1959, Robert lived a life marked by strong presence, sharp humor, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johanna Lyskawa and Richard Lyskawa.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Lyskawa; his children, Robert Lyskawa, Kristy Lyskawa, Amanda Rader-Williams, and Michael Steuernagle; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Lucas, Ariel, and Avery, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Viann Lyskawa and Anthony Lyskawa.
He was deeply devoted to his beloved fur babies, Diamond, his baby girl and Oobie.
Robert found simple happiness in life’s quiet moments: watching “kitty TV” with Diamond, feeding the birds, squirrels, deer, and foxes that visited his yard, playing games and watching YouTube, and endlessly tinkering with anything he could.
Known for much of his life as loud, boisterous, and the “big man on campus,” Robert’s spirit softened in later years following his strokes. He became more gentle, kind, and relaxed, though his trademark humor and sarcasm never left him. Those closest to him knew a man with a big heart, a sharp wit, and a deep love for family and home.
True to who he was, Robert did not want a fuss. He chose cremation, and his family will honor him with a Celebration of Life to be held in late spring.
Flowers and donations are welcome. Details regarding memorial contributions will be shared by the family.
Robert will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Boston St. Fort Funeral & Cremation Services.
