In Loving Memory of Richard Worsley

With humble hearts and unwavering faith, we acknowledge the peaceful transition of Richard Worsley into eternal rest on June 30th, 2026, at 10 p.m. While our hearts grieve his earthly departure, we find comfort in knowing that he has transitioned to a more peaceful life, embraced by God's everlasting love and grace. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit, love, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born on October 13th, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Richard was the beloved son of Amanda Gholson Ward and George Edward Worsley. Throughout his life, he was known as a Little brother, a Big brother, a Dad, a Bad Azz Uncle, AKA (Uncle Richard the Beast, Uncle Richy Rich, Uncle Rich, The Beast, and lastly the Malfunction checker). Uncle Richard was kind-hearted and had a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

Richard obtained his GED and went on to work as a CDL driver, delivering medical supplies and seafood for many years. He was dedicated to his work and took great pride in ensuring the seafood was delivered to its intended destination.

Outside of his career, Uncle Rich found joy in making sure he outdressed his siblings, getting all the ladies, and making sure he had the biggest portion of food since he was the food transporter. He especially loved animals like the cat he threw out of my mom's window for a plethora of reasons, but simply because he didn't give a damn and obtained wisdom and street smarts for those around him.

Above all else, Richy Richy cherished his family. He has transitioned as a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and more, whose love, guidance, and unwavering support will be remembered forever.

He is survived by his son, Lil Richard Worsley; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings, nieces, nephews, and loved ones who carry his wisdom.

He was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.

Those who knew Uncle Richy Rich will remember him for his laugh, wisdom, generosity, and favorite saying “What’s Your Malfunction?” and the following “ I’m The Beast”. Lastly, his best friend, who cared for him through thick and thin, Wild Irish Rose, and his sidekick, Steel Reserve 211. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on July 18th 2026, from 12 AM to 2 PM at Boston St. Fort Funeral and Cremation Services 5801 Cleveland Ave Ste A, Riverdale, MD 20737. 

With a Release Service at Anacostia Park immediately after the Service.
