Richard Walsh, Sr.

Richard Walsh, Sr., 73, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Richard Arthur Walsh Sr better known as Rick was born on March 8th 1952 in Washington DC to Howard William & Elizabeth Jane Walsh. Rick passed away on March 22nd 2025 at Southern MD Hospital. He was the youngest of the four children his parents had. He graduated from Crossland High School in 1970. Rick briefly served in the Marine Corp.

In 1972 at 711 or as you would hear Rick say thank heaven for 711 he met his beautiful future wife Sally. They then married in 1973 and shared 52 years of marriage together. They have four children Richard Jr, Patrick, Katie (husband Sean), and Taylor. Along with four beautiful grandchildren Christian, Rylee, James and Kaylene.

Rick dedicated 40 years to working at Washington Gas until his retirement in 2016. He was a faithful member of Providence Fort Washington UMC where he served as an unofficial greeter; he was always the first person you saw on Sunday mornings. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betsy, brother Harry. He leaves behind his wife Sally, their 4 children, 4 grandchildren, Aunt Doris, sister Barbara, niece Lindsay, nephew Timothy, great niece Abbie, great nephew Will, multiple cousins, and many friends.

At this time there will be no service, but at a later date there will be a celebration of life. When the plans for that are made they will be passed out at a later date.
