Joseph Serra Jr

Joseph Serra, Jr., passed away on March 3, 2026, of natural causes at home in his beloved Frostburg.  He was born in Washington DC on January 3, 1966.  He lived his life in Frostburg surrounded by good friends and colleagues.  He graduated from Beall High School in 1984.  He worked as a certified optician for almost 30 years at Walmart, most recently Keyser, West Virginia.  He was a member of the American Board of Opticianry.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Serra Sr. and Settina Serra.  He is survived by his many cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church in Laurel, MD on April 16, at 11:00 a.m., followed by his interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  On May 16 at 11:00 a.m., a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church in Frostburg, MD.
