Jessie Mae Pelzer-Doye

Jessie M. Pelzer-Doye peacefully transitioned on May 15, 2025, at Adventist White-Oak Medical Center of Silver Spring, Maryland. She was born on October 1, 1951, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the union of Winston Pelzer and Jessie Bell Pelzer.

Jessie received her education at Dunbar High School in the District of Columbia. She accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age. Jessie was a faithful member at the Clifton Park Baptist Church. Jessie lived a life of serving within the community through her church.

Jessie was employed at Lockheed Martin where she retired after thirty- three years of service. During her free time, she enjoyed watching Family Feud, Prices Right, and talking on the phone with her loved ones.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Doye; parents, Winston and Jessie Bell Pelzer; sister, Rosa Washington, Josephine Washington; brothers Charlie Pelzer, Leroy Pelzer, and Pete Berry

Jessie is survived by her children La Tonya Harris and Larry Doye; grandchildren, Diamond Harris, Deontae Harris; great-grandchildren Hayden Willis, and Justin Harris; siblings, Wilford (Linda) Pelzer, Lee (Alfreda) Pelzer, and Dora (William) Ellis; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
