Edward W. Edwards at the age of 86, moved on April 10,2025. He was born January 16,1939 at
the family house on Blaine St NE DC the late Edward J. and Marion H. Edwards. He is Survived
By his three children: Sherie Edwards, Zachary E Edwards, and Don E. Edwards. Edward was
preceded by his wife Gladis Pegues Edwards, brother Delman Edwards, son Edward W. Edwards
Jr., and of course his parents. He finished Spengon High School in 1936 and attended Howard
University for 3 years. Edward was an accomplished saxophone who played throughout
Washington DC as well as New York, with artist like Charlie Parker. After managing a Safeway
Store in DC, he became an electrician. Eventually he started Service Electric and worked on
projects like DC Metro, refurbishing DC public housing, a Synagogue Wisconsin Ave, and even
an FBI Building. At one time it was said if he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed. Eventually, he
retired from the post office. He and his wife were devout member of the Jehovah’s Witness
Clinton North Kingdom Hall. He loved Jehovah, his family, friends, and the Redskins.
The Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on May 17,2025, at Boston-St Fort Funeral home and
Cremation Service, 5801 Cleveland Ave. Riverdale Park, MD 20737.
