Edmund T. Romero, 59, went home to be with Lord Jesus on January 27, 2026. He was a beloved son, father, brother and uncle and husband to his wife, Martha G. Romero. Ed was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps and loved his adopted country.
Born in Peru on October 15, 1966, he emigrated to the U.S. in 1980 with his parents and siblings. Ed was a man of many talents. He enjoyed making delicious Peruvian dishes including his specialty, ceviche. Early in his teens, he taught himself to paint with watercolors with the help of his cousin and was gifted with his hands.
A graduate of Montgomery Blair High School and Montgomery College, Ed worked in retail and was a manager at what was then Chevy Chase Bank. Ed loved people, especially the down-trodden and was an amazing communicator. He found it easy to connect with people and he used these skills as a self-employed handyman and construction worker. He used his construction experience to help design and build a church with his father in his hometown in Peru. It stands today as a testimony to his faith and his relationship with his late father, who was the main architect.
Ed enjoyed caring for animals, especially cats and bunnies. He found several to love on and care for over his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife and two sons and other extended family members. Ed will be deeply missed, but his family is grateful he is not suffering anymore and that he is indeed in a much better place.
Funeral home arrangements entrusted to Boston St. Fort Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
