In Loving Memory of Alice Teresa Baker
December 9, 1940 – October 6, 2025
Alice Teresa Baker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 84. A longtime resident of Laurel, Maryland, Alice was born in Washington, D.C. on December 9, 1940, to Stephen Bernard Clements, Jr. and Ruby Fairfax Kendrick Clements. She was the youngest of seven children.
Alice shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Elvin Leon Baker, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Anne Wood (Dan) of Arizona, and her son Daniel Lawrence Baker of Laurel, granddaughters Amber Douglas (Gary) and Christina Moutari-Moussa (Lawan), and eight great-grandchildren, all of Arizona, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Professionally, Alice served as a secretary at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration before continuing her career in the private sector.
Alice had a remarkable gift for remembering every birthday in her large extended family, faithfully sending cards that made each person feel seen and loved. Her thoughtfulness was legendary, and her devotion to her Christian faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, all six siblings, a great-niece, and her beloved cat, Angel. Though her absence leaves a deep ache, her memory will be treasured.
